The Causes of the Occurrence and Spheres of Restoration of Chateau Brownfields: A Search for Causality on the Example of Properties in the Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic

Scientific research in the area of chateau brownfields is quite new and thus offers room for interesting findings insights. This text presents results a pilot study search causality between causes occurrence spheres restoration Moravian-Silesian region Czech Republic, where settlements are considered an urban phenomenon cultural landscape. Out total 88 chateaux, 40 have received brownfield status over years, which 28 currently regenerated. The main reason why chateaux were abandoned can be found inappropriate economic activities that took place them, originated mainly directive decision on their functionality at end Second World War. Most sites still or sale, many others been regenerated tourism public sector services. analysed restored function reflects logical context characteristic time general desire to reduce number its cadastral area.
